My Warped Tour Blog

Hey people,

So like I said, I am posting this blog about how awesomely awesome Warped Tour was. Just so you know, I'll be posting the exact same blog on my blog and on my Buzznet.

So instead of posting all the stuff that happened in chronological order. I'm going to post the stuff from me volunteering, the stuff from me enjoying the tour, and then any other stuff in between. Oh and btw, I went with my mom because she's just that cool.

So to begin, I went to Warped Tour so I could volunteer with the Warped Eco Initiative. It was basically a group of 20 people (including me and my mom) that was supposed to pick up recyclables around Warped Tour to reduce the amount of recyclables being thrown away. To be completely honest, it was a lot of fun. There was really good music in the background and there where so many good causes. I got to tell my mom about all the different bands and record labels and causes.

All together Tara (one of the people who runs the WEI) said that me and my mom did really well and it was the most successful day of the whole tour. We filled a whole dumpster (a measurement, it's not actually going to get thrown away) and we went through a full box of bags.

Together, me and my mom got a good 6-8 bags (not sure which). My mom and I are very proud of each other.

On to enjoying the actual tour, I really didn't go for the lineup. A lot of the bands I hadn't heard of before and some of the bands I knew sucked. But while I was there I did really want to see Underoath and Sing It Loud. Yes, I know they're completely different but I do love them both. So while I was there, we listened to a few of bands. They were ok. I was able to watch Underoath:

Mind you, this may be the only pic of the Underoath set I post because they all suck.

And I got to them to sign an AP (Alternative Press) Warped Tour edition magazine:

What had actually happened was, the line was really long and people kept saying that you had to have a some kind of ticket (not your Warped Tour ticket) to get anything signed at all. I didn't have either because I wasn't around to get one of the tickets needed and I didn't need a ticket to get into Warped because I was volunteering. So I get to the front and right before I am going to get something signed, a woman walks in front of me and says that after the girl in front of me, the line for the signing would be cut off because the band had other stuff to do. I was SO UPSET! I mean really, I was just about to get it signed. But, then my mom came to the rescue. My mom told one of the woman who were handling the signing that I was volunteering and I'd really like to get something signed. So that woman asked Chris if he'd let me get something signed and he said yes! I was so happy and they look so pretty in person. It was really nice of them to agree to let me in the signing.

Secondly, I did say I wanted to see Sing It Loud. I love them and I've met them before. They're really sweet. Chris (who along with Tara runs WEI) talked to Nate and he agreed to let me on stage with them. He talked to me for a while and thanked me and my mom for volunteering. I got to talk to Ben too and he thanked us for coming to see them.

Sorry this picture sucks. The sun was directly into the camera. Also, I took this with my cell phone camera because my mom used my camera to take pics of me on stage. It's just to prove I was there :D

Me on stage :D

I even got to take pictures with every member of the band as well as got their autographs!

Thank God for security, the Sing It Loud crowd was crazy:

Oh and here's something I thought was interesting. There was a band playing across from the Underoath signing called P.O.S and the were really talented. They're an English metal band and the lead singer said the F-word every five seconds.

"My f-ing mum and my f-ing auntie are here. Give them a f-ing round of applause."

He claimed it was factual that when you die, you rot in the ground and there is no afterlife. He shoved people out of the way when he went into the crowd. He completely insulted a bunch of the bands at Warped Tour saying they sucked. He was funny but really insulting. You couldn't take him seriously, or at least I couldn't because I didn't want to get pissed at the fact he insulted anything and everything he could.

On a more positive note, the band was really talented and they played really well live. I'd recommend them.

I HAD AN AWESOME TIME AT WARPED TOUR! Overall everything went well, even picking up all the trash. I bought really cool stuff too:

Well I got this for free. This was the shirt for the WEI so people would know what were doing:

Here's the back:

I got a To Write Love on Her Arms Shirt (and their merch guy was so cute!)

A Sing It (Really) Loud T-shirt:

And an Invisible Children DVD (their merch guy was so nice):

Oh and btw here's the WEI wristband that got me into Warped Tour (for free):

YAY STUFF!!!! Yeah, so I loved Warped and I hope to go again next year.

Buzznet Loves Buzzing Businesses

Hey people,

I'm sure you have all realized that there are a ton of people advertising their businesses and such on Buzznet. Over the two years I've been on this site I've realized that Buzznet supports a lot of young people in their business ventures. Here's just a list of a few of the main businesses I've noticed on here (as of late).

Now before I begin, I must say the following:

 1. You had to have a business. All those wannabee scene models don't count.
 2. Because this is about younger people, you had to be under 25 to be in this journal (SUPPORT THE YOUTH)
 3. All the pictures seen in this journal were taken from the Buzznet accounts of the person in the picture.

these are in no particular order

SO LET'S START

1. Darla Makeup by Scarlet Madeline

ScarletMadeline www.DarlaMakeup.com Copyright 2009

The Darla Makeup Buzznet was started on March 2nd, but the company has already taken Buzznet by storm. Miss Madeline has had some of her "Makeup Mastermind" journals featured on the homepage of Buzznet and her makeup lets us all have fun experimenting with bright, neon colors.

2. Onch of Onch Movement

Love Issac Rene Photographer

24 year old Onch took our hearts when we saw him on Paris Hilton's: My New Bff. We all instantly saw he had a different sense of style. Now with his own Buzznet, we all get to know him a little more personally and his jewelry collection gives us all bright colored, fun accessories to wear anywhere. (I WANT TO WIN THE CONTEST!)

3. Marialia Pacitto of MARIALIA

i spend my life daydreaming

Marialia Pacitto is only 20 years old but she already owns her own clothing company MARIALIA. Her clothing is cute, fun, and lets you have fun with whatever you put on. MARIALIA's latest Candyland Collectiion (inspired by the board game) has been featured all over Buzznet including the homepage, Marialia's own Buzznet page, as well as the Buzznet pages of people who modeled for her latest collection.

4. Kiki Kannibal

new KND DESIGN. UP ON SHOP ASAP black diamond fuschia ab

Kiki Kannibal who's real name is Kirsten Ostrenga, seems to have made the internet her own. This girl isn't even 20 years old and she already has her own jewelry company and line of t-shirts from her second company KND Kouture. Even through all the controversy and people trying to bring her down, which comes with any business, Kiki still comes out strong. She's been featured on the Buzznet homepage a number of times and her fans will continue to make sure she's noticed.

5. Jacquelyne Marie of Pink Antoinette

Ready to take on the world...

Jacquelyne Marie is a 20 year old pink-haired jewelry designer. Her collection is called Pink Antoinette and, If I recall correctly, only started a few months ago. The collection is completely inspired by Marie Antoinette (If you don't know who she is you all need to brush up on your history *shakes finger at you*). There are so many cute pieces and she uses a lot of bright and pastel colors.

PLEASE DON'T BE RUDE!

I tried to say something nice about everyone here, please try to do the same.

So About Warped Tour

Like I said in my last post, I'll be going to Warped Tour in July. I have a list of things to bring but I'm not sure what I might be missing. As I said before, this will be my first time going to Warped Tour. Can someone suggest a few more things to bring?

Here's what I have so far:

 • water bottle
 • camera
 • batteries (for said camera)
 • Money
 • food/drinks (or I could just buy it)
 • Sunglasses

So yeah, I think I got all the basics. If there's anything else you think I should know, please leave a comment.

My Interview with InPASSING

I love these guys. They're such cool people.

1. To start off, could you state your names and what everyone plays in the band?

Robby Clay - Vocals

Sterling Plemmons - Guitar/vocals

TroyLano -Drums/vocals

Brooks Potteiger - Guitar

Joe Tavarez - Bass

2. You guys are from Orlando correct? What is the music scene like there typically and how is InPASSING different?

Yes. The music scene here is amazing. Lots of talented bands from the area. We like to think our level of professionalism is what separates us from most bands in the area. We also work very hard at promoting ourselves by getting out there and meeting people one on one.

3. How long have you all been a band? How'd you all meet?

In our present form we have been a band for about 2 years. Brooks and Troy have played in bands together since high school. Robby met Troy and Brooks in 2005 and Sterling met them on tourwith his old band in 2004. Robby, Troy and Brooks began working together in various projects soon after meeting. In 2008 Sterling's old band broke up and he moved to Orlando from North Carolina to work with the rest of the guys. In early 2009 we added Joe to the line up which brings us to our present form.

4. How are you all trying to branch out? You can't stay in Orlando forever.

Tour!!! This summer we are writing a full length album with producer James Wisner. We will also be playing a lot of regional shows during that time and after that we will be back out on the road!

5. Are there any new projects you all are currently working on?

Yes, we are writing a full length album.

6. What would you all say influences your music? How would you all describe the music you make?

Everything in our lives influences us. As well as tons of other musicians. Our music is modern pop rock. We try and stay relevant with what's going on in our genre and at the same time be creative and inventive with our writing.

7. What do you all do when you aren't working on or playing music?

We're big movie fans! Any new movie that's out we're one of the first to see it :) But even when we're not working we're still "working". For instance, when we're downtown watching a show or at some party we're still networking, talking about what we do and making connections.

8. If there's one thing you could change about your musical careers, what would it be and why?

I don't think there's anything I would change. I'm a firm believer in "Everything happens for a reason". I'm grateful for what I have :)

9. Where do you see yourselves, or what do you see yourselves doing by this time next year?

Writing for other artist, touring and finishing our full length.

10. Are there any struggles you have faced together as a band? How did you overcome them?

Being in a band is a lot like being in a dating relationship. There are times when we get upset with each other for whatever reason but we all love each other and believe we have something special. So whatever struggle we have is easy to overcome.

This or that

Let's play a game! For each of the two options, pick one or the other.

 1. Doggies or kitties - Dogs
 2. Pancakes or waffles - Waffles
 3. Guitarists or bass players - Guitarist
 4. I would hope that Troy remembers meeting myself (Kori) and Heather while we were in line waiting to see the Sassyback Tour and he was selling CDs to people in line. By Heather's request, I ask Kori or Heather? - Ha! That's like choosing a favorite daughter. It just can't be done!

That's all for the interview people. InPASSING have a Buzznet check it out at:

http://inpassing.buzznet.com/user/

You can also see the interview on Rockstar Connection.

Triplets in Tokio Hotel???

So I'm watching the premiere of Daisy of Love on VH1 with my sister. They were showing all the guys on the show and they showed those triplets from Swedden or some other country.

So my sister looks at the triplets and she's like "They look like the one guy in that band you used to listen to. Isn't it Tokyo something?"

And I was like "Tokio Hotel?"

And she's like "Yeah, they look like the lead singer."

I laughed, she laughed, God I love her.

But I'm going to let you decide. Do you think they look the same??? (before Bill's Make over of course)

My Interview with FALSE START

Like I said, I interviewed FALSE START. here's the interview I did for my website:

RSC: All your fans and friends on Buzznet miss you! How have you guys been and what’s been keeping you all so busy?

Andrew: We have all been taking a bit of time out recently. We went through a rough patch and False Start was on the verge of ending. For me that scared me heaps because this band has been my life for the past 4 years. We have had a few lineup changes but we are back again playing shows. We have been playing heaps lately in New Zealand and filmed 2 videos recently.

RSC: Your music video for “I Come From A Place” hasn’t been fully released yet. With only the preview for our viewing pleasure, can you give us an idea of what to expect from the video?

Andrew: Its probably the funnest video that we have filmed and it's probably my favourite. We got to smash a car it was mad fun! We filmed it in an old wrecker yard. It's going to be on youtube on the 19th of April for international viewing!

RSC: In the blog post on Myspace titled VIDEO PREVIEW AND MORE…. UPDATE! as well as mentioning your music video for “I Come From A Place”, you also mentioned another video that you said would be up in a few months. Can you tell us what that video is for or what it’s about?

Andrew: It's for a song called "I will never forget" it's a song that Vaughn wrote for his Grandmother, about her passing. In general it's about losing someone you love. For the video we got the fans involved. It should be out in the next few months.

RSC: Vaughn, your previous guitarist left the band as well as David. Now that you've replaced one of them with Craigen, your new bass player, do you plan on staying a foursome?

Andrew: Yep, we have recently changed lineup. David moved on because he felt he could no longer be in a band with me anymore. Me and him had our ups and downs but it wasn't working out and he felt that he had to move on. I suppose me and him just grew apart. It's sad in a way because we had some amazing times together but he's starting a new chapter in his life as am I. Vaughn left for awhile but he has recently come back and is in the band for now which we are all very stoked about. Vaughn is one of my best friends and me and him are the only original members in this band so it means a lot that I'm still playing music with him. So now we are back to being a 5 piece!

RSC: How did Craigen end up in FALSE START? How’d you meet him?

Andrew: We met Craigen through friends, and I used to work with him at a music store a few years back that Jim (who was our original guitarist & my best mate) also worked at. So we have known him since then. He also played in a band with Ash called Endtheday.

RSC: For me, it’s insane to think that it’s already April, besides what was already mentioned, what are your plans for the rest of this year?

Andrew: At this time myself and the band are just trying to mellow out a bit more and concentrate on our personal lives and our friendships. For the last 3 years we were always super busy with touring, doing promo e.t.c as well as working jobs. So for now we are all slowing down a bit and just enjoying playing music. We are gonna be playing heaps of shows in our home country and we hope to get back to tour Australia at the end of the year but we aren't going to be touring as crazy as we were last year. I think last year we really burnt ourselves out recording an album, and touring as well as heaps of other stuff. We are just going to take things as the come and see where things lead.

RSC: It’s very clear that you all love your fans. You guys are always posting things your fans make you online. You always keep us updated on all the projects you do and never leave us in the dark. How good of a roll do you think the internet plays in this?

Andrew: The internet is an amazing tool used the correct way. For music it has helped us heaps!

RSC: I’m sure with all the things you do, you’ve met some really cool people. If you could work with someone again who you’ve worked with before, who would it be? Who would you like to work with for the first time?

Andrew: We opened for Escape the Fate last year I would love to play with them again sometime. Also Good Charlotte, would love to play with them again. The person I would love to open for the most would have to be Marilyn Manson!

RSC: I lot of your fans who aren’t in New Zealand would really like the chance to see you. Are you actively trying to find a way to visit us?

Andrew: Yes, we hope to get to places like the U.S. in the near future. But we are taking things as they come. We are not yet signed in America so its a bit harder for us to get there. If any of you know anyone at labels send them our way!

RSC: If there’s one thing about your band you could change or fix what would it be?

Andrew: That we never wrote the song "Mall Goth".

RSC: In the ultimate dance contest between the members of your band who would win and why?

Andrew: Hard to say, probably Pascal Jerry.

FAN QUESTIONS

1. As said before your band line up has changed a little over the time you've been a band. xcollapsingcities from Buzznet wants to know:

How has the new line up affected your music?

It has affected us heaps recently our style has changed and we are now writing stuff thats more heavy than our previous stuff. We always wrote heavy stuff but also a bunch of poppy stuff to. Thats not happening so much now.

2. Doroteathegreat from Buzznet wants to know:

How are Kiwi fans different in regards to American fans?

I've never met any American fans but I cant wait to! All our fans are awesome, I can think of any differences. Our fans in NZ are really loyal but im sure the U.S fans are to!

3. Heather from the Rockstar Connection staff wants to know:

Do you guys like waffles??

I do when I was in L.A i had them heaps. They are decent!

Please help me with RSC

Hello people of Buzznet,

I have come to you all asking a favor. We just got a new layout put up for RSC and although lots of people have been saying the layout looks great (because it does), some people see the navigation bar in different places.

I need you all to help me and screen shot what you see when you go on Rockstar Connection. Once you screen shot it, you can send it to me via message, note, means of contact that aren't from Buzznet, just anyway you can get in contact with me. Send that to me with your current computer's screen resolution so that I can see what the hell is wrong.

Any help will be greatly apperciated :D

Kori

I wish

I wish that time could just turn around. So much has happened lately its so hard to find a way out. I need things to go back to the way they were for anything to get better, but that just cant happen right now. If only someone would ask me what was wrong. Id break down and pour my heart out in a second. I miss the times when I could tell myself that I can be truely happy. That I have a purpose.

Life just drags on and leave me to hope. Hopes that one day something that I say will finally matter. Hopes that one day I will have a purpose, a reason to hope again. Hopes that someone will have a positive answer to a negative question.

Maybe one day I can have that all back again, but for now I have to stay here. To lay in the crumbling foundation I have laid for myself, hoping it will mend. I have to face the fact that life isnt all about the positives, but I have never been so low before.

Sometimes I wonder if God is punishing me. Yes, I believe in Jesus so laugh away you close-minded fools. I wonder if maybe there was something I did to deserve this without knowing it. I wonder if theres a way for me to fix it. I sit at night, unable to go to bed from all the thoughts that reside in my head. The speed by, crashing into one another. Maybe their all like me, just looking for a way out.

Maybe if I hadnt been so selfish this wouldnt have happened. Be just being here might take up too much space. With all the wants and needs of todays society, I feel the need to apologize for my people. We only know what we are accustomed to and this is all I know. Maybe I need to step back and see what others are going through before I throw myself to the tigers.

I know that some of you must be thinking how self absorbed I must be. With all the people who wish they had the life I do, the food and warmth I do. I completely understand that train of thought. But I am used to how life used to me. Im used to how Ive grown up and lived life. That is all I know and for it all to change feels like its crashing down on me. If only I knew how to change it.

A Better Understanding of Me

I have been writing since around the age of 9. It's been my escape for so long I don't know what I would do without it at this point. My emotions long for the expressive ability I can bring to the table, so to speak. For years, I have been lost. I'm only 15 and it isn't like I can completely understand myself at this age. I'm still trying to find this balancing act between being a child and being an adult.

As many children do, I watch cartoons and find some kind of excuse to get out of anything. I still find joy in the simplest of things that I feel so many people overlook. I still find wonder in... everything.

As a young adults, I read all the time. I have the typical struggles with school and a home life filled with the never ending distractions of my siblings. It's no wonder I feel I need to find some way of escape.

But regardless of my reasons for writing, I find that just the fact I write at all is wonderful for my spirit. Picking up that pen and paper for the first time has set so much of my heart on fire with a burning for the unimaginable. Now that I have being writing for this amount of time, I was wondering if it would be a good time to start posting my writings for the public.

I have always been nervous about sharing what I write with people. I have given some writings as gifts and there have been times where I felt I needed to leave the room because of the nervousness I would experience. I have no idea why this happens but I feel that sharing at least some of what I have written with the public, it would a allow great feedback as well as a good feeling and approach to sharing my writings with others in person. Please let me know what you think on this matter. If anything I really just would like an opinion. Thank you so much if you even consider reading this.

Music News: "Lonely Road" by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

The album "Lonely Road comes out on Feb. 3rd but you can currently stream the album on the band's myspace. I wanted to know what you all (or whoever decides to read this journal) think about the album. I've just started listening to the album myself so I may post what I thought of the album later on (I'm not good at album reviews).

Check it out and let me know what you think :)

Ranting about the suckiness of my week

Ok so I don't know what happened, but I think I'm being taught lessions (and/or being punished by God) because of the suckiness of this and last week. Now. Granted, there are things that could have been done to prevent each of these things from happening but I have to learn somehow......

1. I lost my glasses.

Not this week (its Saturday) but last week I wasn't feeling good at all. My stomach felt like it was going to rip out and happy dance for finaly being rid of its confindment. My head hurt as well and I decided since I was a lunch, I would just take off my glasses and lay my head down. I'll have you know, that I had a bunch of friends around me which would have prevented some asshole from stealing them. This worked out because when I finally decied to get up. My glasses were still there.

I don't have the best memory ever and I got distracted and got up with all my stuff and left my glasses on the table. A few seconds after leaving I realized I had left them and gone back to get but realized they were gone. I basicly searched everywhere in the cafeteria before going to my next class and to this day I have not found them. I do still hope and think I will find them though.

2. I got my money stolen

Of course, with the reputation my school has this was bound to happen. I was in the gym and left my stuff in my bookbag. Someone went in my bag and stole my money. This isn't even a long story but I have realized now that I will buy gym shorts with pockets (to keep my stuff with me all the time) and buy a better lock for my gym locker (the school gives you locks to use but you can pick those with a bobby pin).

3. My sister knocked down a self

My sister wanted to borrow a pencil from me (I keep them up high so my 3 year old brother can't get to them) and I guess from the weight she put on it the whole thing came crashing down along with everything on it. She still hasn't said sorry but she acted very upset. Trust me when I said that thing had a whole bunch of stuff on it. When she saw what she did she just walked out. She hasn't bothered to even ask me if I wanted her help. But whatever. As if I needed it, but it would have been nice........................

My New Year's Resolution

I must say, I don't usually have these things because I never finish them in the end. But with the horrible past two years gone, I feel I need to do something to make 2009 awesome just like 2006. I wasn't going to make a journal about this a first but people have been asking me about them and I've seen a lot of people making their own. Maybe since I'm doing this, you all can make sure I'm doing what I need to do to to keep my resolution.

My only resolution this year is to better myself regardless of whether I'm better my appearance or attitude or the way I live my life. To do this, I've listed some of the things I need to do to better myself below:

 • exercise more (I am not in shape sadly... and I'm so thin!)
 • take better care of my skin (BLACKHEADS!!!!)
 • better care of my hair
 • Work on getter better grades
 • Try and stand up for myself more (I'm like a doormat D:)
 • Become happier with what I have rather than what I want.
 • Feel good about the person I am
 • Let my nails grow out (I had such strong nails before I got those fake nails for Homecoming. After I took those nails off my real nails were very strong and brittle. Once they finish growing out they'll be strong again and I'm going to keep them that way)
 • Become more helpful around the house (I'm so lazy....>.<)
 • Get a good camera (I really want to start something with photography)
 • Continue to work on making RSC a cool site (rockstarconnection.net is my website)
 • Become a more positive person
 • Stop going on the computer for15 hours at a time lol
And I believe that's it for right now. Be sure that if I remember anything else I'll add it here.

"I'm sorry... It just happened"

I never understood why people say that. Its not like you didn't know what you were doing while you were doing it. I mean its one thing if you were drunk, or high on drugs (because then most likely you didn't know what you are doing). Say you cheated on someone and you tell the person you cheated on what happened and after all the explaining you say "I'm sorry, it just happened."

How does that just happened? You just so happen to be unsatisfied in your relationship. You just so happened to met a girl and just so happened to sleep with her 25 times. That makes sense.

Lots of people cheat and I'm not trying to say that people who cheat are bad people and I'm not trying to be some relationship expert but I mean really, if you're going to lie about something make it an at least decent lie.....

I'm done ranting

Selling Out

I never understood this concept. What does it take for a band to sell out. Do they have to constantly come out with CD's that seem as if they are replicas of one another? Do they change their sound so much no one knows what the hell happened? Do they become too mainstream?

I never fully got the idea of what it took for a band, or any type of artist for that matter to sell out. To some people, it seems to me that the slightest change causes them to freak out. Maybe I guess people don't like change.

I always thought that when a band changes, they are trying to develop as artists, maybe to see what they could get away with. But maybe some bands make the wrong changes. For some bands or artists, they could change up their sound and everyone would love them just the same. For others, they change and it seems like they were just sentenced to a lifetime in Hell. No one seems to want anything to do with them but the "hardcore" fans.

I bring this topic up only because RJA (The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus) just said on their Myspace that they are currently selling their latest single "You Better Pray" on iTunes and because of my website and the fact that I do like them, I checked it out. I listed to the 30 second clip but didn't buy the song and realized that the song has 3 stars so far. As usual, I read the comments and while some people said postive things about the release, others said they had "sold out" and even compared them to others bands such as Nickelback. No one seemed to say why they had sold out though. It seems like a bunch of people just wanted to point a finger.

Other bands such as The Academy Is... have changed their sound in some way for each of their albums and there are still many people that love and adore them. But I wonder of some of that is only because William Beckett is so hot. Well of course that's true. Some people wouldn't give a damn of William didn't look as beautiful as he does. But that is just the small amount of fangirls.

Now I'm not trying to say that RJA sucks or that they are the best band ever, nor am I saying this about . Those bands aren't even a part of this, just examples. What I am trying to understand is what does it to be labeled in such a way. Or it may not even be about that. We are all judged in some way or another and not everyone can love the same thing. Labels are just that, labels.

With other labels though, things are a lot simpler. We can look at someone and stereotype them as being emo or a prep or a skater or a goth or what have you based on what they look because of things found in the media or in pop culture today, but can the same be said about selling out?
