My Warped Tour Blog

Hey people,

So like I said, I am posting this blog about how awesomely awesome Warped Tour was. Just so you know, I'll be posting the exact same blog on my blog and on my Buzznet.

So instead of posting all the stuff that happened in chronological order. I'm going to post the stuff from me volunteering, the stuff from me enjoying the tour, and then any other stuff in between. Oh and btw, I went with my mom because she's just that cool.

So to begin, I went to Warped Tour so I could volunteer with the Warped Eco Initiative. It was basically a group of 20 people (including me and my mom) that was supposed to pick up recyclables around Warped Tour to reduce the amount of recyclables being thrown away. To be completely honest, it was a lot of fun. There was really good music in the background and there where so many good causes. I got to tell my mom about all the different bands and record labels and causes.

All together Tara (one of the people who runs the WEI) said that me and my mom did really well and it was the most successful day of the whole tour. We filled a whole dumpster (a measurement, it's not actually going to get thrown away) and we went through a full box of bags.

Together, me and my mom got a good 6-8 bags (not sure which). My mom and I are very proud of each other.

On to enjoying the actual tour, I really didn't go for the lineup. A lot of the bands I hadn't heard of before and some of the bands I knew sucked. But while I was there I did really want to see Underoath and Sing It Loud. Yes, I know they're completely different but I do love them both. So while I was there, we listened to a few of bands. They were ok. I was able to watch Underoath:

Mind you, this may be the only pic of the Underoath set I post because they all suck.

And I got to them to sign an AP (Alternative Press) Warped Tour edition magazine:

What had actually happened was, the line was really long and people kept saying that you had to have a some kind of ticket (not your Warped Tour ticket) to get anything signed at all. I didn't have either because I wasn't around to get one of the tickets needed and I didn't need a ticket to get into Warped because I was volunteering. So I get to the front and right before I am going to get something signed, a woman walks in front of me and says that after the girl in front of me, the line for the signing would be cut off because the band had other stuff to do. I was SO UPSET! I mean really, I was just about to get it signed. But, then my mom came to the rescue. My mom told one of the woman who were handling the signing that I was volunteering and I'd really like to get something signed. So that woman asked Chris if he'd let me get something signed and he said yes! I was so happy and they look so pretty in person. It was really nice of them to agree to let me in the signing.

Secondly, I did say I wanted to see Sing It Loud. I love them and I've met them before. They're really sweet. Chris (who along with Tara runs WEI) talked to Nate and he agreed to let me on stage with them. He talked to me for a while and thanked me and my mom for volunteering. I got to talk to Ben too and he thanked us for coming to see them.

Sorry this picture sucks. The sun was directly into the camera. Also, I took this with my cell phone camera because my mom used my camera to take pics of me on stage. It's just to prove I was there :D

Me on stage :D

I even got to take pictures with every member of the band as well as got their autographs!

Thank God for security, the Sing It Loud crowd was crazy:

Oh and here's something I thought was interesting. There was a band playing across from the Underoath signing called P.O.S and the were really talented. They're an English metal band and the lead singer said the F-word every five seconds.

"My f-ing mum and my f-ing auntie are here. Give them a f-ing round of applause."

He claimed it was factual that when you die, you rot in the ground and there is no afterlife. He shoved people out of the way when he went into the crowd. He completely insulted a bunch of the bands at Warped Tour saying they sucked. He was funny but really insulting. You couldn't take him seriously, or at least I couldn't because I didn't want to get pissed at the fact he insulted anything and everything he could.

On a more positive note, the band was really talented and they played really well live. I'd recommend them.

I HAD AN AWESOME TIME AT WARPED TOUR! Overall everything went well, even picking up all the trash. I bought really cool stuff too:

Well I got this for free. This was the shirt for the WEI so people would know what were doing:

Here's the back:

I got a To Write Love on Her Arms Shirt (and their merch guy was so cute!)

A Sing It (Really) Loud T-shirt:

And an Invisible Children DVD (their merch guy was so nice):

Oh and btw here's the WEI wristband that got me into Warped Tour (for free):

YAY STUFF!!!! Yeah, so I loved Warped and I hope to go again next year.
